Bharat Milap Mandir

It said that Bharat came here to meet Lord ram and request him to return to Ayudhya and accept his throne. Very Spiritual Place.

Though Chikrakoot is very religious place but unfortunately it is very ill maintained. All the temples are surrounded by filth, plastic packets, broken plastic bottles and all types of rubbish. Mandakini river is very dirty. I feel very bad on visiting such a religious place which is kept so dirty by our own peoples and travellers.

Chitrakoot is a wonderful place of many hills lying on the northern side of Vindhya Hill range spread over the states of Utter Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The larger part is Chitrakoot District of U.P., and the other part is in the District Satna of Madhya Pradesh. In Uttar Pradesh it is a revenue District since September 1998.

Bharat Milap Mandir is situated in the midway of Kamadgiri Pradakshina Marg. This is the place where Bharat met Lord Ram, his elder brother to persue him to be back from his exile and accept the throne of Ayodhya.

Janaki Kund

This is a lovely stretch of water where it is believed that Sita Maa used to take her bath during her exile at Chitrakoot. Janaki kund poses extreme serenity and tranquility to the pilgrims coming here . Pilgrims visiting Chitrakoot seldom spare the chance to take a dip in Janaki Kund since they strongly believe that these waters are blessed.

Janki Kund is situated close to Pramod Van and at 2 km from Ramghat on the left bank of River Payaswini flowing at Chitrakoot in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. It is believed to be the bathing place of Seetha Matha the consort of Lord Sri Rama during the period of their exile.

Jankaki Kund is around three km from Ramghat, the main point of Chitrakoot Dham. It is not far away from Sphatik Shila. At this place on river Mandakini, Devi Sita used to take bath during the exile. Of course, the scenic beauty is praiseworthy. A very small temple of Sita's footprints is built here and devotees bow down.

On the Banks of Mandakini river, about 2 kilometers away from the famous Ram Ghat, this beautiful Janaki Kund (also known as Sita Kund) is situated. Lord Rama's wife- Sita Ji- used to bath here during the period of her exile. There is a rocks nearby which bears the foot prints of Sita ji.

One has to cross narrow pathway lined with houses on both sides.. but ultimately it opens up in a very beautiful picturesque scene. In winters, a mild gentle river flowing without any human intervention bushes growing around.

Sphatik Shila

Sphatik shila is nearby Chitrkot. You can acess it only by own or public transport. A place of attraction. Most of devotees used to visit these places for get Darshan of their beloved Lord Ram belongings.

It is believe that Lord Ram and lakshman was sitting in this rock when Hanuman return from lanka after setting afire, and confirm that Mata sita was at ashok vatika captured by rawana.

it is the place where lord rama punishes jayant son of lord indhra.it is most beautiful location in the chitrakoot.near by sita kund also can visit.

The name Chitrakut, Chitrakut, Chitrakoot or Chitraluta (spelled in any fashion) refers to the mythologically historical and most important forest during the times of Ramayana in Threthayug. Later on the hermits turned villages and then developed in to town and promoted as city and in the recent past bifurcated in to three parts because of its enormous growth and claims.

Sphatik Shila is worth seeing for two reasons - first, Lord Ram used to sit here with Sita and their footprints can be seen on the rock and second, the rock or stone is fantastic as sphatik is a rare rock. The shila is situated on the banks of river Mandakini at around a distance of 4 km on the way.

The beauty of the place is unparalled. Very peaceful and refreshing. Wish had more time to explore the nearby forest.

On the Banks of Mandakini River in Chitrakoot, there is a huge rock- looking like a white crystal roack. It is about 1 Kilometer away from Janaki-kund. It is said that Sri Ram and Janaki Ji used to take rest here. They were frequently visiting Sati Anusuya and Atri Rishi Ashram and on the way were use to take rest.

This picturesque spot is marked by two immense rocks. It is believed to be the place where Lord Rama and Sita feasted their eyes on the beauty of Chitrakoot. The scenic beauty of this densely forested area is sure to overwhelm you. This pictorial location on the left banks of Mandkini River holds a funny but lovable story about the divine concern.

Kamadgiri Temple

This is the place where Lord Rama stayed in exile for 12.5 years of 14 years of exile .Kamadgiri parbhat has circumference of 5 kms. The devotees used to go for parikrama and get the Darshan of Lord Kamadgiri Temple.

The original Chitrakuta situated over Kanadgiri hills , its said that lord Rama came here and spend some time.

The first destination was Lord Kamtanath temple and Pradakshina of Kamadgiri Mountain. Kamadgiri is the main holy place of Chitrakoot Dham . The Sanskrit word ‘Kamadgiri’ means the mountain which fulfills all the wishes and desires. The place is believed to have been the abode of Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman during their exile.

It is well known to religious believers, doing it on full moon days is very auspicious.it is about 7 km walk one has to do by bare foot.prefer giripradakshanam in mornings only.

Chitrakoot is a spiritual spectacular space specifying the spots where Lord Rama, Seetha and Laxmana dwelled for eleven years in exile to spend fourteen years of prescription of his father learnt through his step mother Kaikeyi. It is a popular tourist dot of the day.

This place is more organised compared to others. Parking is proper and one has to walk bare foot inside the compound of the temple. If you opt to do parikrama which is about 5+ kms, do it early morning or after sun down. Doing parikrama bare foot is an experience in itself.

A forested hill of prime religious significance, this is believed to be the original Chitrakoot. The Bharat Milap Temple is located here. Pilgrims perform a ritual circumambulation of the hill to seek blessings.

Hanuman Dhara Temple

Hanuman Dhara and Sita Rasoi are best places in Chitrakoot. No one should miss on taking few extra steps to reach till Sita Rasoi ... This is top of the hill and have an amazing view. Try Chai Rabri on the top, you will sure love it

A place near to Chitrakot.Lord Hamuman Statue is at top of Hill with approx 610 stairs. The place is very good for prayer of Lord Hanuman.A spring (DHARA) runs through temple and so called Hanuman Dhara.

Hanuman Dhara is located inside a cave un Chitrkoot hills where we can see a permanent flow of water from a perennial and natural water spring. The water falls directly on the tail end portion of the idol of Lord Hanuman. This Temple is on the peak of mountain.

Hanuman Dhara is most probably the highest point of Chitrakoot. It is around 5 km from Ra mghat. At this place, a minor spring of water comes out from uncertain point of rock. It is said that Lord Hanuman requested Lord Ram to provide some cooling remedy for hiss heated body at the time of setting Lanka on fire.

Those who are ardent devotees of lord Rama and his beloved deciple Hanumanji..this place is must see.The temple is situated on a hill top. The climb is steep although approx.400 stairs looks difficult but once you start it looks easier and takes approx. half an hour to reach temple.

Sati Anusuya Temple

This place is near to the origin of Mandakini River. The place very calm and cool and the environment is very pleasant and natural. Very suitable place for truth seekers and spiritual gainers.

Sati Anasuya ashrama is located further upstream, 16 km from Chitrakoot, set amidst thick forests that round to the melody of birdsong all day. It was here that Atri muni, his wife Anasuya and their three sons (who were the three incarnations of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh), lived and are said to have meditated.

Maha Sati Anasuya served her husband with intense devotion. She did severe Tapas for a very long time in order to beget sons equal to the Gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Also Sage Narada praised the satitva qualities of Mahasati in front of three devi Lakshmi. Saraswati and Parvati so much that they became extremely jealous.

This place is quiet large in are as the temple is surrounded by Natural beauty like trees and a small river. Before main temple, there is Shri param hans Ashram, very big Ashram have many idols. There is river aside the ashram in which anyone can enjoy. There are alot of Monkeys they sometimes creates nuisance.

One of the ancient places in Chitrakoot. Religious place for HINDUS. Boating is the main attraction for the tourists.

This Mandakini river ghat is centrally placed in Chitrakoot, and has many religious place around it. The main attraction is boat ride which is very relaxing and super cheap. The Ram Ghat is very clean now in compare to how it used to be an year before. I tried boat rowing which was an experience in itself.

Mandakini River banks are called Ram ghat in chitrakoot, It said that lord Ram,Sita and lakshman took dip in here. The place is good to spend few hours relaxing and in evening you can be a part of ganga aarti.

“Ram Ghat” on the bank of Mandakini River symbolizes faith, Religion and belief people of this land are carrying for thousands of years. Bharat Milap Mandir on Ram Ghat is the place where Bharat took the Sandals of Rama and installed on the throne in Ayodhya. After getting sunburnt for the whole day, spending Janmastami evening on the colourful boats.

Awesome place. Best time to visit is during rainy season in early morning when the sun rises. Do boating or rent a boat and relax in waters of Mandakini river.
